The art and science of rehabilitation of the upper quarter of the human body
A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is a highly specialized clinician who provides an expert approach to the evaluation and treatment of any orthopedic or arthritic condition of the neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. A Hand Therapist will incorporate modalities, manual therapy and exercises to reduce pain, restore range of motion, and increase strength. This will facilitate improved independence in self-care, work or leisure pursuits.
Overall, the ultimate goal of Hand Therapy is the prevention of dysfunction, the restoration of function, and the reversal of the progression of pathology. Achievement of these goals will promote willing participation in meaningful activity and ensure a more successful return to work and home management roles.
The Hand Therapy department offers extended hours of operation for your convenience.
