Post Operative ACL Exercises

Quad Set

Quad Set: Slight Flexion

Tense muscles on top of the surgical leg. Hold 5 seconds.

Repeat 10 times.

Perform hourly.

Straight Leg: With Bent Knee (Supine)

Straight Leg: With Bent Knee (Supine)

With brace locked in extension, tighten the muscles at the front of your surgical leg and raise leg 5 inches.

Peform 5 reps 3x a day.

Strengthening: Hip Abduction (Side-Lying)

Strengthening: Hip Abduction (Side-Lying)

With brace locked in extension, tighten the muscles on front of your surgical thigh, then lift leg 5 inches from surface, keeping knee locked.

Repeat 5 times per set.

Do 3 sessions per day.

PROM: Knee Flexion

PROM: Knee Flexion

Unlock your brace. Put towel around your heel and gently pull knee up with towel until stretch is felt. Hold 5 seconds.

Repeat 10 times per set.

Do 3 sessions per day.
