Alayne has been with Colonial Orthopaedics since the inception of the therapy department in 2001. She places a strong emphasis on body mechanics and functional training. This minimizes stress on the body, expedites return to work/daily activities and decreases the likelihood of re-injury.
Alayne began her career treating patients with neurological diseases, strokes and orthopaedic conditions. Over the past 13 years she has pursued the area of orthopaedics through advanced education in joint mobilization of the spine and extremities, treatment soft tissue and the myofascial system, spinal stabilization and ergonomics. In 2010 she demonstrated her advanced clinical knowledge by receiving her certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist from American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Alayne is a Sportsmetrics certified instructor and has a special interest in the prevention of injuries in young athletes. She directed an injury prevention training program for the Virginia State University’s Women’s Basketball Team, performs sports screening for the Richmond Raiders Arena Football Team and clinics for various sports organizations in the community.
